What is Zumba® Fitness?

Zumba® Fitness is a dance fitness program featuring Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves that create such a great atmosphere that you are bound to get hooked after your first class!  It is an exhilarating hour of energizing, calorie burning, body sculpting, bootie shaking fun. You might even forget that you are working out!

Different dance styles include: salsa, mambo, rumba, merengue, hip hop, flamenco and more!

The class is designed for everyone from beginners to seasoned dancers.  Everyone just moves at their own level.  The objective is to dance - fake it till you make it, burn calories and have fun!!

History of Zumba® Fitness                                                                         Beto and Ali

Celebrity fitness trainer, Beto Perez, came up with the concept of Latin inspired fitness in the 1990's while teaching his aerobics class in Colombia, South America.  His Zumba® Fitness class soon became the most popular class at his gym.  

In 1999 Beto brought the class to the United States, where he teamed up with entrepreneurs Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion to create a global company based on the Zumba® fitness philosophy. 

Today, there have been infomercials and countless DVD's sold and the fitness party can now be found in healthclubs, schools, YMCA's, corporations, and more!
